Materials maker Geon Performance Solutions has acquired PVC compounder Roscom Inc. for an undisclosed price.

Roscom makes flexible and rigid PVC compounds for indoor and outdoor applications at a site in Croydon, Pa. In a Dec. 20 news release, Geon CEO Tracy Garrison said that Roscom "is an excellent fit" for Geon.

"This addition represents a key step forward in our strategy," he added. "The Croydon facility and tenured team will enable us to better serve our customers in the Northeastern U.S. and parts of Canada."

"We intend to maximize the incredible expertise of the Roscom team and look forward to bringing its additional product portfolio to our customers," Garrison added.

Roscom President and Chief Operating Officer Nick Lynch said in the release that aligning with Westlake, Ohio-based Geon "helps secure a strong future for our customers and members of the Roscom family alike" and that the combination "will result in a company that will exemplify the future of the PVC compounding industry."

Lynch will remain with the company through the transition as an adviser to Garrison. Sales and manufacturing operations for both companies will continue as usual through the transition.

Roscom officials previously said the firm operates about 80 million pounds of annual compounding capacity at the 80,000-square-foot Croydon site.

Geon is owned by investment firm SK Capital Partners. The 1,000-employee firm has annual sales of around $800 million and includes one of North America's largest PVC compounding businesses.
